Position 001437:            Business Continuity Planning Manager

A progressive, growing health insurer in Western New York is looking for an individual who will design, develop, coordinate and facilitate all business continuity planning activities within each respective division of the Company. This includes interacting with the critical business units and support groups for the purpose of planning, directing, controlling and maintaining the specific plans necessary to assure operations in times of emergency

Key Responsibilities:

· Leadership role in developing, coordinating and maintaining comprehensive business contingency plans and validation methodology to ensure ability to recover, in the event of an unforeseen disruption (i.e. facilities, operations, customer service etc.).

· Works in partnership with the manager of Disaster Recovery to assure the organization has an overall plan to maintain operations

· Ongoing risk analyses for corporate functional areas to identify points of vulnerability and recommending disaster avoidance and reduction strategies.

· Development and facilitation of business continuity training related to planning, plan maintenance and execution to appropriate parties.

· Ensure that all components of the Business Continuity plans are successfully tested routinely, or whenever significant changes are made.

· Provide expertise and support to management and business functional areas whenever and wherever a business disruption occurs.

Experience & Skills:

· Bachelors degree and minimum of 5 years work experience required

· Certification from BCI (Business Continuity Institute) current or within 3 years is preferred, not required.

· Strong operations background and able to think through very specific processes necessary to keep the business functioning in times of crisis

· Minimum of 5 years experience in design, development and maintenance of business continuity plans preferred

· Excellent verbal and written communication skills

· Strong relationship building/collaboration skills

· Strategic thinking/planning skills

· Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment with daily work processing deadlines

· Strong project management skills required

· Previous vendor relationship management experience preferred

· Demonstrated customer service orientation
